What Is Chemist Care Now?

Chemist Care Now is a Victorian Government-supported program that allows trained community pharmacists to assess and treat selected, low-risk health conditions without needing a GP visit first.

• Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Treatment

Eligible patients can receive clinical assessment and same-day treatment for uncomplicated UTIs, along with advice on symptom relief, prevention, and referral when required.

• Travel Health Consultations & Travel Vaccinations

We provide professional travel health consultations, vaccination planning, and advice on food, water, insect-bite prevention and travel medicines.

• Shingles Assessment and Early Treatment

Our pharmacists can assess symptoms, provide early treatment when appropriate, and refer promptly if further care is needed.

• Skin Infections and Common Skin Conditions

Assessment and management of impetigo, infected eczema, mild psoriasis flare-ups, and minor bacterial skin infections.

• Contraception Resupply

Eligible patients can access pharmacist-led resupply of certain hormonal contraception following clinical review.
